Starbucks to introduce new 'crisp' fall drink, bring back pumpkin spice latte

It may still be summer, but Starbucks is embracing fall with a new menu release on Tuesday.

The coffee chain's iconic pumpkin spice latte is returning for its 23rd season and joining the pumpkin lineup are new cold drinks, including the iced pumpkin cream shaken espresso, iced pumpkin cream matcha and pumpkin spice chai, next to established favorites, the pumpkin cream cold brew and iced pumpkin cream chai.

For customers who prefer something nuttier or sweet, Starbucks is bringing back its pecan cortado, pecan crunch latte and iced pecan crunch latte and expanding its banana bread line to include an iced banana bread latte and iced banana bread chai.

Starbucks is also debuting a brand-new beverage this autumn: the iced chaider, which the coffee company said will feature chai mixed with strawberry acai flavors in a "crisp, refreshing cider-like beverage."

As for fall bites, the pumpkin cream cheese muffin is coming back alongside two new seasonal food offerings: the chicken bacon protein pocket, as well as the hedgehog cake pop, a sweet treat made from vanilla cake, buttercream, chocolaty icing and chocolate sprinkles.

Starbucks' fall releases come about the same time as their 2025 drop, but this year, competitor Dunkin launched their fall menu earlier on Aug. 19.

Their menu features pumpkin staples as well as a line of tiramisu drinks, including a tiramisu cloud latte, tiramisu shakin’ espresso, tiramisu protein latte and a tiramisu marshmallow matcha.
