Kate Middleton returns from summer break with longer, blonder hair

WATCH: Kate Middleton opens up about cancer recovery

Kate, the Princess of Wales, has returned to her royal duties after a summer break with a noticeably different look.

Kate and her husband Prince William visited London's Natural History Museum on Thursday, marking their first joint appearance since spending the summer out of the spotlight with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Kate, 43, arrived at the museum with a new hairstyle, showing off longer and fuller hair.

Most noticeably, Kate's hair was also blonder than the last time the public saw her, when she attended the Wimbledon men's and women's finals in July.

The public got a very brief glimpse of Kate's new look in late August, when she was photographed in a car on the way to church. However, Thursday's appearance was the first time she showed off her new hairstyle in full.

While at the Natural History Museum, of which Kate is royal patron, William and Kate toured the museum's gardens with a group of young students, before their tour was interrupted by rain.

Kate's visit to the museum alongside William is part of her ongoing return to public duties after announcing in January that her cancer is in remission.

Kate shared her cancer diagnosis publicly in March 2024 but did not give further details on the type of cancer, the stage or her treatment beyond stating that she underwent chemotherapy.

On Thursday, William and Kate's return to royal duties came at the same time their children -- George, 12, Charlotte, 10, and Louis, 7 -- returned to school.

The Wales children attend Lambrook School in Berkshire, England, located near the family's home in Windsor.

William, Kate and their kids plan to move later this year to Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom home on the Windsor Castle estate, a Kensington Palace spokesperson confirmed to ABC News on Aug. 18.

The Wales family currently lives in a four-bedroom home, Adelaide Cottage, which is also situated on the Windsor Castle estate.
