Heather Locklear marked one year of sobriety by sharing a thoughtful message on Instagram.
The former "Melrose Place" star shared a quote that has been popularly attributed to the late poet Maya Angelou that begins: "I've learned that no matter what happens or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow."
"Hugs will come later! 1 year sober today!!!" Locklear wrote in the caption.
Last summer, Locklear, 58, pleaded no contest to charges that she got physical with first responders during two visits to her home in 2018, according to The Associated Press. She was sentenced to 120 days in jail, but that sentence was stayed upon her completion of a substance-abuse program, the AP reported.
Despite past troubles, Locklear has her "Melrose Place" co-stars in her corner. In the comments section of her post, Laura Leighton wrote, "Congratulations, Heather! So happy for you, my friend!" while Lisa Rinna added, "love you Heather!!!!!!!" Rob Estes, who played an on-screen love interest, also chimed in: "All right Heather!!!!!! Way to go!!"
Meanwhile, Locklear's daughter, Ava, with her ex-husband Richie Sambora, sent her cupcakes the day before, spelling out a sweet message: "I love u, mama."
