Dolly Parton celebrates Grammy win for Christian duet with Zach Williams: 'I am very humbled'

Dolly Parton says she is "very humbled" by her win at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

The country superstar and Christian rock artist Zach Williams won a Grammy for best contemporary Christian music performance/song for their collaboration, "There Was Jesus," on Sunday.

Their win was announced ahead of the award show, during the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony, which kicked off at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT.

In a post online, Parton wrote, "Thank you Jesus, thank you @zachwilliamsmusic, and thank you to the GRAMMYs and all of our fans. I am very humbled but proud."

This is Parton's 10th Grammy win and 50th nomination.

Speaking to the Associated Press earlier this month about the honor, she shared, "It’s always special. You always love to be acknowledged." She pointed out it's not her main focus, though, adding, "Like I’ve always said, ‘I don’t work for awards and rewards.'"

Williams' also celebrated their victory online, writing, "Humbled to have won 'Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song' for 'There Was Jesus' today at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. Thank you to @DollyParton and everybody who was involved in making this song. All glory, praise, and honor to Him!"

"There Was Jesus," released in 2019, also helped Parton achieve her first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs and Christian Airplay charts.
