LAPD searches for suspects in home burglary linked to Benny Blanco’s mother

WATCH: Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are engaged

A home linked to Benny Blanco's mother was burglarized overnight amid an increase in residential break-ins in a Los Angeles neighborhood.

Los Angeles police confirmed the break-in on Tuesday but did not identify Blanco’s mother as the resident nor owner of the home, which is located in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Studio City.

Property records show, and neighbors told KABC, that Blanco's mom lives at the home.

Police said they got a call around 9:15 p.m. Monday night of a burglary in progress. The caller said that three males broke a sliding glass door. The suspects ran away before LAPD arrived, police said.

The LAPD said the suspects ransacked the home and took property, however it is unknown at this time what was taken from the home.

It's unclear where the victim was during the incident, but a stringer at the scene said the victim hid in her upstairs bathroom while she spoke with police.

Detectives are still investigating the incident, police said.

"Good Morning America" has reached out to reps for Benny Blanco for comment.

Some neighbors who spoke with KABC said they weren't aware that Blanco's mother, who is also Selena Gomez's mother-in-law, lived in the home that was targeted.

Others said the home has been targeted before, and that burglaries have been common in the area recently.

"Do I feel safe? Much less so than when we moved here, like, 27 years ago," a neighbor in the area told KABC. "Now, not so much. We check our locks to make sure the alarm's on. It's a much different life."

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the LAPD's North Hollywood station.

Editor's note: A previous version of this story cited the Los Angeles Police Department confirming it was Blanco's home, but it's been updated to cite neighbors and property records.
