A new, dazzling ball will drop in Times Square in New York City next month, as revelers ring in the New Year.

One Times Square, the skyscraper home of the city's annual New Year's Eve ball drop, unveiled the new "Constellation Ball" Monday.

The Constellation Ball is the ninth Times Square Ball since 1907 and is described as the "biggest ball yet."

The new Constellation Ball, which is 12.5 feet in diameter, features 5,280 handcrafted Waterford crystals and LED lights and weighs 12,350 pounds, according to One Times Square, which designed the new ball.

The stunning spectacle showcases state-of-the-art lighting, interactive elements, and modern technology, with new motion and control systems as well.

The Constellation Ball will be featured on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve," which is returning this year with host Ryan Seacrest.

Singer Rita Ora will join Seacrest in Times Square, while Chance the Rapper will kick off the Chicago celebration, and former NFL star Rob Gronkowski and "Dancing with the Stars" co-host Julianne Hough will co-host from Las Vegas.

"Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest," will air live on Dec. 31 starting at 8 p.m. ET and 7 p.m. CT on ABC.
