Victoria's Secret 2023 fashion show will return as film celebrating women from around the world

WATCH: New docuseries follows rise and fall of Victoria’s Secret

Victoria's Secret will be approaching its historically controversial fashion show differently this year.

The brand is planning to reimagine the event as a showcase for women from around the world in a feature-length film, "Victoria's Secret World Tour."

The choice to create a feature-length film is "reaffirming it's ongoing commitment to champion women's voices, perspectives and experiences," according to the brand's press release.

The film will bring together not only the top supermodels of the world but also celebrate art, culture, musical performances and more.

The concept behind the creation is to give viewers a look behind the scenes of what the brand is calling the "VS20."

The group consists of "20 innovative global creatives who will conceive four fashion curations from the vibrant cities of Bogota, Lagos, London and Tokyo." While showcasing these creatives' work, the film will be interwoven with custom Victoria's Secret designs.

"We are excited to introduce a completely reimagined version of the fashion show," said Chris Rupp, chief customer officer at Victoria's Secret & Co.

For the first time since 2018, the lingerie seller will remove their iconic look of models wearing angel wings.

The new "show" will be pretaped and available for streaming internationally and culminate in a live fashion event this fall.
