Who can forget the iconic scene from the film "Clueless," when Cher became the envy of every fashionista when she used her computer to generate perfectly-matching outfits each day?
Well, fast forward 25 years and we now have apps that promise to dress you and organize your entire wardrobe with just your fingertips.
"Good Morning America" teamed up with actress, entrepreneur and Instagram influencer, Cara Santana, to try out some of the most popular fashion and wardrobe organization apps on the market.
"Anything that simplifies a woman's life, I am all for it," Santana told ABC News' Rebecca Jarvis of her excitement for trying out the apps.
As someone who bounces back and forth from Los Angeles to New York City for work, Santana said she needs her wardrobe to be "functional and fashionable."
"And I have to have something of everything because the weather is ever changing," she added.
Santana gave us a peek into her New York City closet, which she says she organizes based on "color coordination and then sleeve length and then occasion."
We tasked Santana with trying out three of the most popular free wardrobe apps on the market: Cladwell, Finery and Pureple.
While she says that initially trying out the apps takes some prep time (uploading every item in your closet one-by-one or selecting something similar on their sites), the effort is worth it to her and she said she found each had unique qualities that can work for any woman.
Here is how they stacked up for this jet-setting fashionista.
(MORE: Pink was the color of the night on the 2019 SAG Awards red carpet)First up, the Cladwell app, which lets you upload your own clothing or choose images that are similar to what you have, then creates basic wardrobes, seasonal capsules and special occasion outfits.
Santana said she especially likes how she could virtually put away seasonal items she didn't need while using Cladwell.
"For someone like me who's ... up against different weather, this app gives you the weather and it also allows you to put your winter wardrobe into storage so you're only picking from usable items, which I thought was pretty smart," she said.
Next up is Finery, which was co-created by actress and model Brooklyn Decker and links directly to your email, then uploads online clothing purchases. Similar to Cladwell, Finery also makes style recommendations based on the weather.
If you are a girl-on-the-go who shops online a lot then Finery is for you, Santana said.
"I love that it saved a lot of time from having to photograph each outfit and upload them," she added.
She said the app also helped her be creative with her outfits.
"It gave me fresh perspective on pairing clothes that maybe I wouldn't have before, or created great basics that I could put together," Santana said.
Finally, Pureple has been dubbed the Tinder for clothes: once you catalog your items you can either style on your own or ask for suggestions and then you can swipe right to save a look, or left to ditch it.
Santana said she felt this app was very easy to navigate, and that it would be ideal for planners.
"I think Pureple is a great app for someone like my mom," Santana said. "She's super organized. She doesn't have a lot of time, and she really likes to plan things out in advance, and I think Pureple really allows their user to do that."
"It has great packing list components," she added. "There is the ability to clean out your closet, remember items that you haven't worn in a while and maybe someone who isn't necessarily exceptionally technologically friendly -- sorry Mom -- then that maybe is the better app for you."
