The Met Gala has become one of the biggest and highest profile fashion nights of the year.
Celebrities, designers and fashion insiders all come out wearing the most showstopping looks for the annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute and this year is no exception.

Described as extravagant, fun and tongue-in-cheek, the camp theme provided some of the most eye-catching and outrageous looks. From Lady Gaga's entrance featuring not one, not two, but four separate looks, to Billy Porter's arrival on a pedestal channeling Cleopatra, the gala served as a defining moment for the camp aesthetic.

Kicking off the night in camp style, Gaga, a co-host of this year's event, arrived at the gala in the most grandiose way, revealing not one but four separate and epic looks on the red carpet.

Billy Porter, all glammed up in gold, also made one of the most memorable entrances of the night. Channeling Cleopatra, he was carried onto the carpet lying on a pedestal held by six shirtless men.
Okurrr! Rapper Cardi B wowed onlookers as she made an entrance in a flamboyant bird-inspired red gown with a huge train and feather details.
Baby, you’re a chandelier?! Katy Perry lights up the pink carpet in this chandelier dress that looked like it was inspired by Lumiere from "Beauty and the Beast."
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo! Zendaya transformed into Cinderella on the pink carpet.
The singer/actress was a real-life Disney princess complete with the blonde hairdo, a corset ball gown that lit up when her stylist waved a magic wand and a tiny purse shaped like a pumpkin carriage.
Red carpet royalty Kim Kardashian West brought the drama, wowing in an outfit that looked like water was dripping from head to toe. Kanye West kept it simple by her side in a sporty black suit.
Newlyweds Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas matched in camp outfits that were out of this world. Chopra Jonas struck a power pose in a space-themed dress with a colorful feathered skirt and headpiece while Jonas wore a white suit with diamond-studded details.
Newlyweds Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas had a matching retro vibe.
Serena Williams brought sportswear flair to the pink carpet by wearing lime green sneakers to match her floral ensemble.
Feathers for days! Conde Nast’s Anna Wintour, the host of the A-list event, arrived in a pink floral dress with a stylish feathered cape.
The “Black Panther” and “Star Wars” actress was unmissable in a pink Marie Antoinette-inspired column gown with a rainbow top, feathery wings, a rainbow folding fan and jewels galore to match.
Camp is believed to have originated in the 17th century, and many celebs, including Nyong’o, drew on elements from that period. The Oscar-winning actress put her own spin on camp by honoring her culture with an afro headpiece adorned with hair picks.

Picture perfect! Tracee Ellis Ross was a walking masterpiece, dressing up her black gown with a literal gold frame around her face.
Legendary singer Celine Dion stood out in a glitzy feather headpiece that matched her glittery, metallic gown.
Bring on the ruffles! Laverne Cox stepped out in a black gown with exaggerated ruffles.
"Grown-ish" star Yara Shahidi appeared playful and fun in a feathered coat and a sparkly bodice with her camp-inspired ensemble.

“Riverdale” co-stars and real-life couple Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart weren’t afraid to take on the camp aesthetic with their playful looks. Sprouse wore a maroon suit with flower prints and Reinhart donned an abstract light blue minidress with a 17th century-inspired hairdo.
Bella Hadid brought old Hollywood glam to the gala in a revealing black dress encrusted with diamond details. The model accessorized with a stack of jeweled bracelets on both arms.
