Spring is traditionally the time to refresh and renew your space. Unfortunately, as a pet parent, those tasks come more routinely. That’s why I decided to try the Bissell Little Green Pet Deluxe Portable Carpet Cleaner.
Being one of the highest-rated stain-removing carpet cleaners on Amazon with a 4.5-star rating and more than 25,000 reviews, the Little Green Pet Deluxe Portable Carpet Cleaner seemed like it would be a dream for removing tough stains from carpet, upholstery, car interiors and more. This particular model was appealing because of its compact and portable size -- it’s just 15 pounds.
Let's put it to the test!
The Bissell system comes with a solution that I needed to mix with water and add to the side tank on the machine before starting. Once the water and solution mixture were filled, I sprayed the solution onto the stains that I was attempting to remove. Along with a little elbow power, the brush head attachment helped to scrub and remove the stubborn stain, while the suction power of the machine was simultaneously lifting up the stain.
One unique feature that I found helpful with the Pet Deluxe model of the Little Green Carpet Cleaner was the stain-trapping attachment. The stain trapper is useful if you’re cleaning unappealing substances that you want to dispose of quickly after removal. Once you use the attachment to remove the stain, you can unscrew the container and dispose of any dirty liquid instantly. Depending on what type of stains you are picking up -- pet related or otherwise -- this Bissell is ideal for deep cleaning and spot treating in one area.
After cleaning, the hose can be neatly wrapped around the machine for easy attachment storage.
I tried the carpet cleaner on multiple stain types and surfaces to really put it to the test. The three stains I tackled included dirt that had been tracked onto my area rug, a ketchup stain on my rug and, finally, a small dog urine stain on my sofa. All three stains showed improvement after using the Bissell. Once I was able to master the scrubbing and movement technique, as well as add the proper amount of solution to the stains, the before-and-after resulted in a successful stain removal.
With these positive results, this could be a must-have product for pet parents, families with children or even for those adult "oops" moments. The stain remover showed improvements to my rug and sofa after just one use.

We often think about spring cleaning our homes -- but there are so many other places that could use a little sprucing up, too.
Now that we’ve returned to the office, I want to keep my desk space as clean as possible -- and there are a lot of little nooks and crannies that one may not think to clean regularly.
I tried using two different Amazon products to clean out various areas around the office, including my desktop, keyboard and our green room.
The first product I tried was the ColorCoral Cleaning Gel, available on Amazon. I wanted to see how it would clean out the dust and crumbs from inside my keyboard.
The package instructions said to first start with clean and dry hands. Once ready, I broke off a piece of the gel and worked it into a ball in my palm.
Once the gel was in a ball, I pressed and molded it into my keyboard, targeting the spaces in between the keys where there were dust and crumbs. The gel did a good job of picking up the surface crumbs and dust without spreading them around or making any additional mess. I liked that it didn’t leave my hands feeling sticky and the gel didn’t have a strong scent.
However, I did need to add pressure when targeting smaller crumbs and dirt trapped deeper into the keyboard. That said, I would use this gel as a surface clean but not as a deep cleaning treatment.
This product has more than 19,000 reviews on Amazon and a 4.1 out of 5-star rating.
Next up, I tried the ODISTAR Desktop Vacuum Cleaner, available on Amazon.
The vacuum turns on with the push of a small button and has a rechargeable battery you can charge using a USB. The product is just 80mm x 60.5mm, according to Amazon’s product specifications, so it’s ideal for storing in small workspaces.
I tried using the vacuum to clean up makeup scraps – specifically shavings from sharpening a lip liner – as well as small scraps of paper and dustings of makeup powder.
The vacuum quietly and quickly picked up all of the scraps and powders on the table surface. Afterward, I cleaned it out by popping it open and dumping the trash particles into a garbage can.
This product has over 13,000 reviews on Amazon and a 4.3 out of 5-star rating.

Is it possible to make cleaning fun?
The Hiware 26-Piece Drill Brush Set for Cleaning has more than 6,500 reviews on Amazon with 4.6 out of 5 stars.
According to the brand's Amazon listing, the product is time-saving, energy-saving and cleans multiple surfaces.
The set includes scrubber brushes, scouring pads, sponges and other attachments.
All of the pieces are made to fit with most powered drills to create a high-powered cleaning tool.
I used the RIGID 18V Cordless Drill and was able to easily connect the tools to my drill.
To put the product to the test I used the product in my bathroom shower, bathroom sink and kitchen stove.
I tested two different brushes in my shower to clean the faucet as well as grout.
For the wall and faucet, I used the four-inch medium bristle brush.
I was surprised at how quickly my shower went from dull and drab to shiny and "new."
For the hard-to-reach corner of my shower, I used the medium bristle ball brush to get into the cracks and crevices.
After cleaning the shower looked even better than when I had moved into my apartment.
For the bathroom sink I used the same medium bristle ball brush.
I was able to remove buildup around the drain while also shining up the hardware.
The stove in my kitchen gets a lot of use, causing buildup that is hard to clean.
I used the gray scouring pad with a kitchen cleaner and was shocked at how much was coming off my stovetop.
Overall, the product was easy to use and cleaned much better than by hand.
Not to mention it made cleaning fun!
