Jessie J might be a pop sensation with her new song, "Bang Bang," but long before that, she was writing hit songs for other artists.
One in particular was "Party in the U.S.A.," which she wrote for Miley Cyrus
"'Party in the USA' paid my rent for, like, three years. Actually it was longer than that. That's where I get most of my money. I write songs. I'm a singer. I love doing endorsements and stuff, but that's all added on," she told Glamour UK for it January issue.
Jessie J wrote the hit with Dr. Luke and Claude Kelly and feels her new song "Bang Bang" can be just as big of a hit as "Party" was for Cyrus.
"One of the biggest things that I've wanted to achieve in my life is standing the test of time, and I feel like 'Bang Bang's' going to do that," she added.
The 27-year-old British singer also opened up about life with her beau Luke James and whether he's the one.
"Maybe. Why not? I'm nearly 27 and I'm at a point in my life where anyone I'm allowing to give that part of myself to, I want to give the chance for it to be forever. And he's really amazing," she said. "Am I in love right now? I'm working on being in love. That's the truth…I don't want to sound mean. But I'm not in love ... yet. I'm learning how to fall in love."
