Matthew McConaughey and wife Camila Alves McConaughey have been married for over a decade and are the parents of three kids.
Matthew McConaughey kicked off 2025 by watching a University of Texas women's basketball game in Austin on Jan. 23, with the couple's daughter, Vida.
In addition to Vida, the McConaughey are also the parents of two sons, Levi and Livingston.
In June 2024, Matthew and Camila McConaughey celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary.
The couple wed on June 9, 2012, after first meeting in 2006.
To mark their anniversary, Matthew McConaughey shared a photo on Instagram with his wife, writing, "thank you #happyanniversary."
Last November, Camila McConaughey marked her husband's birthday by sharing a video on Instagram in which the couple are seen riding on a motorbike and cruising through the streets at night with music playing.
"Today we celebrate you!" she wrote in the caption at the time. "Well technically we celebrated you all weekend! Hoo you bring so much Joy Matthew… but I am stopping here before I get all sentimental…! To many more sleigh street rides celebrating YOU!"

"Sometimes loving your kids means giving them just what they want," he said at the time. "Other times it means tough love."
"Affluent people can give their kids everything they want, but they’re not usually going to get what they need," the actor continued. "Loving a child is a lot harder if you really give a damn. 'No' takes a lot more energy. It’s a lot easier to say 'yes.'"
Born on July 7, 2008, Levi is the couple’s first child. In an interview with People in 2020, McConaughey shared that Levi developed a passion for music from a young age.
"Basically he came out of the womb knowing a minor from major key on the piano," the actor said at the time. "In the last six months, he really got into listening to composers, and he now can listen to a movie and tell you, 'Oh, that's Hans Zimmer,' or 'That's John Williams,' which is really cool."
In 2023, McConaughey and Camila welcomed Levi to social media on his 15th birthday. In a video post introducing Levi to the platform, the actor said of his son, "He knows who he is, and he knows where he's going. I think he can handle it. He's got a great story to tell and share."
Levi has also shared his love for McConaughey on the public platform. In honor of the actor’s 54th birthday in November 2023, the teenager paid tribute to his dad in an Instagram post.
"People know Matthew Mcconaughey as an Actor and now a writer, but I know him as my father," Levi wrote in the caption. "The man who always makes time for us no matter what, the man who’s always there for us no matter what, and the man that taught me to appreciate the journey and not just the destination."
"The journeys just getting started…," he added. "Happy birthday Papai."
Levi turned 16 on July 7, 2024 and to mark the milestone, McConaughey and Camila shared a joint post to Instagram in which the Oscar winner shared some meaningful words to his eldest.
"All right, Levi. Coming on that age, buddy," McConaughey began. "About to be out on your own. Me and your mom hope we've done as good of a job as we can. You're not gonna really have us as a safety net out there in the wonderful, wild world forever."
"Just go out and enjoy. Be aware of your surroundings. Be yourself. Know when to say yes. Know when to say no. Know when to say maybe," he added with a laugh. "See the good in everybody else but know that not everyone else is always paying attention."
McConaughey ended the note with one final piece of advice for Levi: "Take your time, enjoy the journey."
The second child of the couple, Vida was born on Jan.3, 2010.
Appearing to be following in her dad’s footsteps, Vida gained an acting credit in 2021 for playing a small role in McConaughey’s movie, "Sing 2."
On her 15th birthday in 2025, Matthew McConaughey took to Instagram to wish Vida a happy birthday, writing, "Vida. 15 years. Thanks for being my tech guru, so savvy, and for loving to grow things. Love Papai."
Camila McConaughey also shared a tribute on Instagram, writing of her daughter, "Yesterday this force of a girl turned 15! May you never forget that the first person to love is YOU…. Your name says it all…Vida! We love you so much words can not express! 💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛."
In June 2024, Camila and Vida shared a matching moment as the mother-daughter duo made a stylish entrance at the Hermès Birkin event.

The couple celebrated Livingston's 12th birthday in 2024 with tributes on Instagram.
"12 today!!! it is an absolute honor to be your mom! 💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛💚💛," Camila McConaughey wrote on Instagram alongside photos of herself and Livingston at a soccer game.
Matthew McConaughey shared photos of Livingston by his side at a University of Texas football game, writing, "at a dozen, my son and teammate. To many more wins in life. with love, Papa."
