Leap year-born sisters reunite with leap year-born doctor who delivered them

When your birth date only comes once every four years, there's extra reason to celebrate.

And that's exactly what two sisters -- both born on February 29, but four years apart -- plan to do. In a remarkable calendar coincidence, the girls were delivered by a doctor who also shares their leap year birthday.

Chloe and Joelle Davidson, born in 2012 and 2016, respectively, recently reunited with Dr. Eric Grossman ahead of their birthdays.

"When I found out I was pregnant with Chloe, the due date was [Feb. 25, 2012]," the girls' mother Jamie Davidson told "Good Morning America."

"When I was there for an appointment early on, Dr. Grossman said 'Maybe the baby will have my birthday.' I wasn't thinking he was going to say he was a leap year baby, but he did. Closer to leap year my due date came and went. We usually induce my births because I only went into one labor naturally out of my 8. Since I was past Chloe's due date, we chose to induce on that Wednesday, [Feb. 29, 2012]."

Joelle's original due date was in mid-March 2016, but because of a blood pressure issue her mom had experienced in a previous pregnancy, had to be delivered at 37 weeks. Her parents chose to induce on Feb. 29 once again.

The girls are two of eight children, four boys and four girls.

The Haddon Heights, New Jersey, mom said they "live a fairly simple life, outside of family of 10 craziness."

The whole family will be in attendance as the girls celebrate. The themes are a nod to their unusual birthdays -- 1st birthday for Joelle, now four and "terrible twos" for Chloe, now eight.
