Lula Beth Bowden, 4, proudly displayed six simple, powerful words after beating stage 2 cancer: "It came. We fought. I won."
After months of treatment, Lula Beth held up the sign with a proud smile on her face.
Her mom, Kristin Bowden, a photographer, told "Good Morning America," "We never expected this news to happen to us. It’s always sad, heartbreaking stories of others that you see, until it happens to you."
Doctors found a Wilms tumor -- a type of pediatric cancer -- on Lula Beth's kidney in March 2020.
Her mom told "GMA" the little girl underwent surgery for removal of the football-sized tumor and entire kidney. The surgery was followed by a treatment regimen that consisted of 13 rounds of chemotherapy within 22 weeks.
"She flawlessly got through them all and remained the light in our family," Bowden said.
