U.S women's national soccer team star Mallory Swanson and her husband Dansby Swanson, a shortstop for the Chicago Cubs, are expecting their first child, the couple announced in a joint Instagram post Wednesday.

The post included several photos of the couple posing together in white outfits, holding a series of sonograms.
The star athletes married in 2022.
Dansby Swanson, a Georgia native, was the first overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft. He would go on to play for the Atlanta Braves from 2016 until 2022, before playing for the Chicago Cubs starting in 2023. He won a World Series title with the Braves in 2021.

Mallory and Dansby Swanson often post about each other on social media. Just last month, Dansby Swanson took to Instagram to praise his wife on her birthday.
"Happy Birthday to my amazing, beautiful, kind, and loving wife! You are my Queen, and a blessing from Above! I thank God for you everyday. I love you ❤️," he wrote at the time.
In December, Mallory Swanson shared a post about her husband on their wedding anniversary, writing in the caption, "My love grows for you every single day & December 10th will always be my favorite day ♥️."
