Usher was already dad to two sons when his daughter, Sovereign, was born last September, but the "Yeah!" singer said having a girl has been a completely different -- and welcome -- experience for him.
"I'm loving being a girl dad for once," the 42-year-old singer told "Good Morning America" on Monday. "I'm even changing my colors; I'm wearing pink and cool stuff like that."
Usher welcomed sons Usher, 13, and Naviyd, 12, with ex-wife Tameka Foster before Sovereign, whom he shares with girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea, was born.
Back in May, Usher and Goicoechea announced that another baby -- the singer's fourth overall and the couple's second together -- was on the way. The eight-time Grammy winner said he and Goicoechea are "definitely enjoying this little baby boom of ours" and they "can't wait" for their newest addition.
As for whether or not his children enjoy his music, Usher said not all of them are fans. "I do wish that my kids listened to my music more," he said, adding that son Usher "doesn't care" and Naviyd is the one who does appreciate it most. As for Sovereign, Usher said "she just likes me to sing to her."
As to which kid will pursue a career in music, the "Confessions" singer said he hopes Naviyd does while Usher at least got his name. Though it's too early to see if Sovereign will follow in her dad's musical footsteps, Usher said "she just screams -- but she screams in key."
These days, Usher is calling Las Vegas home, having just kicked off a residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Friday.
"It was kind of a trial and error," he said of putting the residency together, noting he wanted to make it a fun experience for new fans and longtime fans alike by covering songs from every album, from hits to the B-sides. "I wanted to make sure I covered everything."
"It's going to be an amazing show like none other in terms of the techniques, the dancing, the wardrobe," Usher said. "I spared no expense in making sure that this was an incredible show."
