More than a month after Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt and his girlfriend, Kasi Bennett, welcomed their daughter, Bolt has revealed the baby's name: Olympia Lightning.
In a series of photos posted to Instagram, Bolt shared first public photos of the infant who was born in May, according to a tweet from the prime minister of the runner's native Jamaica.
"I want to wish my gf @kasi.b a happy birthday and To let u know I am happy I get to spend ur special day with u. I want nothing but happiness for u and will continue to doing my best keeping a smile on ur face," Bolt wrote on Tuesday. "Now we have started a new chapter together with our daughter Olympia Lightning Bolt I look forward to what the future will bring for us but be reassured that I will be the ROCK for this family. I Love you and happy 21th birthday."
Bolt, 33, often considered the greatest sprinter ever, told People magazine in February that he would not push his children to pursue track and field. Explaining that he'd be supportive if his children wanted to go into sports, he added that he thought it might be "hard" if they tried to do what he's done.
"I think it's the hardest thing when you have a dad that is a superstar in a super sport, I don't think you should do that sport," he said. "I think you should do something else because there is so much pressure on you to live up to expectations."
Bolt and Bennett announced in January that they were expecting.
