Marvel star Kumail Nanjiani reveals jaw-dropping transformation

WATCH: Kumail Nanjiani undergoes radical body transformation

Former "Silicon Valley" star Kumail Nanjiani is proof that hard work pays off.

The actor, who was tapped to star as Kingo in Marvel's "Eternals" film, has spent much of 2019 getting in shape and on Monday, he showed off the results.

In an Instagram post, Nanjiani thanked the professionals who helped him become "strong, limber and injury-free," and gave props to his wife, writer Emily V. Gordon, who supported him throughout the process.

"I never thought I’d be one of those people who would post a thirsty shirtless, but I’ve worked way too hard for way too long, so here we are," he wrote. "I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world. I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before. It would have been impossible without these resources and time."

In addition to working out nonstop, Nanjiani, 41, has had a busy 2019. Although his time on "Silicon Valley" came to an end -- the HBO series ended its six-season run on HBO on Dec. 8 -- he appeared in an episode of CBS All Access' "The Twilight Zone" and lent his voice to the Fox animated series "Bless the Harts," the film "Men in Black: International," and the upcoming movie, "Dolittle." He also starred in the summer blockbuster "Stuber," shot the 2020 movie "The Lovebirds," and began production on "Eternals."

"Eternals," which also stars Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek and Kit Harington, is slated to be released on Nov. 6, 2020.

"My husband works hard for every role he takes, but he's worked hard in many new ways for this one. I'm so proud of him. I always have been," Gordon tweeted. "Also, we spent the majority of this past weekend playing 'Borderlands 3' so don't think he's changed too much."

Disney is the parent company of Marvel and ABC News.

I never thought I’d be one of those people who would post a thirsty shirtless, but I’ve worked way too hard for way too long so here we are. You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. I found out a year ago I was going to be in Marvel’s Eternals and decided I wanted to transform how I looked. I would not have been able to do this if I didn’t have a full year with the best trainers and nutritionists paid for by the biggest studio in the world. I’m glad I look like this, but I also understand why I never did before. It would have been impossible without these resources and time. So big thanks to @grantrobertsfit who started working with me at the beginning of the year and made me understand true physical pain for months and months. Then, once we started shooting, a massive thanks to @davidhigginslondon and his team (@ellispartridge, @thebeardypt, @tomcheesemanfitness) for training me almost every day and making me strong, limber and injury free. I can almost touch my toes now. (And thank you for forcing me to do cheat meals David.) Matthews Street Catering for their delicious and healthy meals. And finally, the biggest thanks goes to @emilyvgordon for putting up with me complaining and talking about only working out and dieting for the last year. I promise I’ll be interesting again some day. #thirstyshirtless (Photo by @markupson.)

Kumail has been getting buff and I’ve been reaping the rewards. Mayonnaise jars, biceps, you name it. This is from an article about his regimen from Men’s Health if you wanna google. Look at that back muscle in the second pic! Ok I’m done.
