Jesse Tyler Ferguson is now a father.

The "Modern Family" actor and his husband, Justin Mikita, welcomed their first child, Beckett Mercer Ferguson-Mikita, on Tuesday.

"Jesse and Justin welcomed their little bundle of joy Beckett Mercer Ferguson-Mikita on July 7, 2020," a representative for Ferguson told People. "The new parents are overjoyed and excited for this new journey as a family of three."

Ferguson, who played Mitchell Pritchett during "Modern Family's" 11 seasons, announced the news that himself and Mikita were expecting their first child during an appearance on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" in January 2020.

"Actually, this is something I haven't even mentioned to anyone -- if we could just keep it between the three of us and you all -- but I'm actually expecting a baby in July with my husband," he told Corden, fellow guest Charlie Hunnam and the audience.

"I'm very excited, but it feels like I'm 44 now, let's get this show going," he joked.

In a June interview with Variety, Mikita said the couple is "just really excited to meet this person and experience what fatherhood is like."

"We both have amazing fathers who we look up to very much, but it's different when it's you," he added.

Ferguson and Mikita, who have been married since 2013, have not shared any photos of their son yet.
