Gov. Cuomo thanks Rihanna for donating personal protective equipment to New York amid coronavirus

Many big-name celebrities have been giving back towards coronavirus releif efforts, and Rihanna is being honored for doing so in a beautiful way.

New York has one of the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the country, and the singer has donated personal protection equipment as supplies have become limited.

Gov. Cuomo tweeted his gratitude for this gesture saying "I want to thank @rihanna and the Rihanna Foundation for donating Personal Protective Equipment to New York State."

In addition to PPE, Rihanna donated five million dollars toward fighting the COVID-19 pandemic through her Clara Lionel Foundation.

The pop star joins a host of other celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, and Justin Timberlake as well as fashion companies including Gap Inc. and Zara who have given back in this time of need.
