It's based on the true story of Canedy’s love affair with 1st Sgt. Charles Monroe King, who was killed in 2006 in Iraq when his son, Jordan, was just 7 months old. But King left behind a journal in which he wrote important life lessons for their newborn son, with "his spirit living on in his messages of love to Dana and Jordan."
