Best online streaming at-home workouts: Discounts, online classes, and what to know amid coronavirus

WATCH: You can do this stretch routine literally anywhere to stay healthy

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has many people around the world practicing safe social distancing, which in turn has resulted in an uptick of at-home workouts.

New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut governors announced that gyms have been ordered to close in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19.

"We have agreed to a common set of rules that will pertain in all of our states," New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a statement. "So don't even think about going to a neighboring state thinking there's going to be a different set of rules."

Additionally, popular boutique fitness studios, as well as personal trainers, have continually made efforts to abide by CDC guidelines encouraging social distancing.

Popular gyms such as Equinox and Planet Fitness have also frozen accounts amid the coronavirus crisis.

Nike Master Trainer Kirsty Godso posted and demonstrated a five-minute "Glider Workout" routine on Instagram.

"Resharing + sharing more of some of my favourite ways to stay calm and confident during this time in the comforts of your home," Godso said in a caption.

Platforms such as ClassPass, which allow users to have access to a variety of gyms and studios as well as mainstream gyms such as Equinox, have allowed customers to pause memberships without penalties.

This well known bootcamp-style fitness studio has launched virtual 35-minute classes that can be booked online or though the Barry's app. Each class sells for $20.

Nike Training Club App

The Nike Training App offers a variety of free workouts designed by trainers, and they just made their premium version (that has even more workouts) completely free for members. The mobile app includes everything from HIIT-style workouts to yoga flows for all fitness levels. Membership is usually $14.99 per month or $119.99 annually.

Peloton

Peloton is currently offering a 90-day free trial to their full library of digital classes, which includes cycling, meditation, yoga running and more. After 90 days, subscriptions are $12.99 monthly.
