As the holiday season draws closer, it's time to mark your calendar and keep an eye on flight prices if you're planning to travel over Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Travel experts consistently reiterate the importance of the Goldilocks approach for booking airfare any time, but particularly around the holidays.
Anytime between Oct. 28 and Nov. 19 is the ideal time to book holiday travel at the lowest prices, Google Flights data has historically shown.
The cheapest day to book an airline ticket is 58 days before departure, Google Flights says, so for arrival by Christmas, people should start considering booking their flights.
"It's never too early to start thinking about holiday travel plans. For Christmas, the cheap booking window is around mid-October to mid-November," James Byers, group product manager of Google Search, who leads the Google Flights team, told ABC News.
Because prices historically start to climb around Oct. 22, now is when travelers should book any Thanksgiving trips.
Christmas trips should be booked by Halloween.
Every day after that, prices could start to increase every day.
The Points Guy team of experts told ABC News previously to "always use technology" and "set alerts if the flight price drops."
"Google Flights is free -- if you're looking at a route, start alerts now," Brian Kelly said. "When you start seeing prices go up, in general, they will keep going up. Procrastinating for holiday travel is not a good strategy."
