A Japanese hotel is making headlines, not only for its $1 per night rooms, but for what guests must do to get that rate: have their stay livestreamed over the internet, even as they sleep.

The dollar deal rooms in the hotel comprise the One Dollar Hotel, according to the hotel's website. The idea for the $1 room was to make effective use of an old inn with a low occupancy rate, the website states.

The room has a shared bath and there are no cameras in the bathroom. Additionally, audio is not livestreamed.
