No matter how you feel about getting on an airplane, it feels like just about everyone could use a vacation right now.

From COVID-19 lockdowns to homeschooling to a tumultuous presidential election, sitting on a beach sounds pretty good at the moment.

You're not the only one who thinks so: Expedia's 2021 Travel Trends Report shows that while the majority of trips are likely to remain closer to home, aspirational travel has would-be wanderers dreaming of fleeing to some far-off destinations.
