"I've always been a big fan of E.T. and kind of thought about the universe in a different way, and I thought E.T. was so cute and how he was wiggling around and all the moments when E.T. got dressed up with the wig and everything," Klum told "GMA."

She continued, "So, I just thought it would be fun to become E.T."

Klum was accompanied by her husband Tom Kaulitz, who also dressed as E.T.

Just ahead, let's take a scroll down memory lane at some of Klum's most unforgettable past looks.

"I wanted to do a costume with a lot of people where a lot of people became one," Klum told "Good Morning America" about her inspiration for the costume. "I always try to think outside of the box."

The German-born model and "Making the Cut" co-host said she wanted to collaborate on the look and performance with Cirque du Soleil because "they do all these amazing things and have these amazing artists and acrobats."

"In order to be big, you know, people need to be able to climb on top of each other and [contort] and do all of these fun things," she explained.

After wowing in a worm costume in 2022, which she called "slick and simple in a way, even though it was difficult to make," Klum said she wanted to do something "very elaborate and big and [with] more color" this year, "just to give it a different twist again."
