Women’s shoes for spring 2026

In the transition to spring, shoes are a key part of a new wardrobe.

We're rounding up some of our favorite new shoes for spring, from the trending styles to the ones we think are forever pieces for your wardrobe.

First, you need practical, functional shoes to get you through the rainy months, including a pair of comfortable rain boots or sneakers.

After that, shop for trending styles that still suit your style and your wardrobe favorites. This spring, find loafers and slim sneakers in the mix. Right now, we have our hearts set on the perfect black loafers à la Carolyn Bessette Kennedy's style, which we're re-obsessing over thanks to the release of "Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette."

Glove pumps, ballet flats and floral heels are also among our picks for spring.

Continue below to shop some of the styles we have our eyes on and be sure to check back throughout the season as we continue to add to our list!

Sneakers for spring

Opt for a slimmer sneaker this season, such as the Louise sneakers from Charles & Keith or the Everlane ballet sneaker. The adidas Samba Jane Shoes also caught our eye, as they are a cool combo of a sneaker and a Mary Jane. If you want a go-to white sneaker, we always love Keds.

Flats for spring

Ballet flats are one of our favorite styles for spring and this season, we're shopping them in leather and suede. Much like spring apparel, we're eyeing blues, reds and purples for a pop of color.

Loafers for spring

For a classic black loafer, shop brands like Madewell and J.Crew. Backless loafers will also be "in," so try a pair like the Steve Madden Rafe loafers below. They are available in multiple colors to suit your style.

Heels and wedges for spring

Look out for snakeskin, florals and glove pumps (featuring a higher cut upper) to add to your spring wardrobe. These ASOS slingback wedges, for example, are perfect for adding a pop to a simple outfit, like straight-leg jeans and a classic white tee. The Madewell Emilie Glove Pump will do the same but with fabric, lending a touch of soft suede to accessorize a pair of rigid denim.

Rain boots for spring

Don't make your rain gear an afterthought: We just so happen to think that a rainy day outfit can actually look really well styled with a pair of classic rain boots. Hunter and Barbour both have options we love. Style them with your jeans tucked into the top, a sweater and a trench coat.
