Black Friday and Cyber Monday are two of the biggest shopping events of the year, and retailers are kicking off deals even earlier for the 2025 holiday season.

Black Friday falls on Nov. 28 this year, giving shoppers just under four weeks to score deals on their holiday shopping.

Hanukkah begins Dec. 14 this year, so if you're shopping for multiple celebrations, it's smart to start planning now.

Retailers have already begun teasing early Black Friday previews, and experts expect even steeper discounts to drop as early as late October, based on last year's trend.

In 2024, brands like Dyson, Samsung and Le Creuset rolled out major doorbusters weeks ahead of schedule, and we're already seeing similar deals again for 2025.

Membership and loyalty programs will likely offer the first rounds of savings. Expect early access deals from brands like Abercrombie, Ulta, Nike, Amazon and Apple before they go live to the general public.

When is Black Friday this year?

Black Friday falls on Nov. 28, 2025, the day after Thanksgiving.

When is Cyber Monday 2025?

Cyber Monday this year is Dec. 1. It's primarily an online event known for especially strong deals on tech, fashion, travel, beauty and digital subscriptions.

What should I shop for on Black Friday vs. Cyber Monday?

Black Friday is typically best for big-ticket items like TVs, laptops, kitchen appliances, vacuums and mattresses.

Cyber Monday is stronger for digital-first deals like tech accessories, beauty bundles, software, travel and fashion. It's also the better choice if you'd prefer to shop entirely online and avoid crowds.

When are stores open after Thanksgiving?

Most major retailers are expected to remain closed on Thanksgiving Day again in 2025.

Walmart has already confirmed it will be closed on Thanksgiving, with Target, Best Buy and Kohl's likely to follow. Stores will reopen early Friday morning, but nearly all major Black Friday deals are expected to go live online hours, or even days, ahead of in-store openings.
