Abercrombie & Fitch has had quite the glow-up in recent years, drawing in customers new and old with updated takes on classic styles, Curve Love jeans and even formal dresses. Now, the company has taken on a new collaboration with luxury Western brand Kemo Sabe, and the results are a fantastic mix of both brands' signature aesthetics, melded beautifully into lacy dresses, quality leather jackets and chaps-inspired denim for the ultimate cowgirl sophistication.
At the recent launch party for the brand, "GMA" spoke with Kemo Sabe president and owner Wendy Kunkle, as well as Corey Robinson, chief product officer at Abercrombie & Fitch, about their experience working together on this first-of-its-kind pairing.
"We've done some collaborations with individuals and some partnerships with the NFL, but a true brand collaboration we have not done," Robinson explained, "So, we really needed to pick the right partner."
After becoming friends with Kunkle and familiarizing himself with the brand a couple of years ago, Robinson kept the idea of collaboration in his back pocket until Abercrombie CEO Fran Horowitz visited the Kemo Sabe store in Park City, Utah, and mentioned the two brands should work together.
"Frankly, it has been the easiest, smoothest collaboration," Robinson said.
Kunkle called the project "ridiculously fun," adding, "With Kemo Sabe, we get the luxury of getting to work with people we love, and I had already fallen in love with Corey, so when he asked, it was a no-brainer for me."
Kunkle later said in a press release that the collection aims to bring the "elevated craftsmanship, heritage details and iconic style" of Kemo Sabe "to a new audience that loves authenticity, quality and versatility."
The resulting friendship and partnership has led to a gorgeous mix of romantic flowing dresses, crisp denim zip-up jackets, faux turquoise bolo ties and embellished denim, each perfect whether you're line dancing in Colorado or strutting the streets of New York.
