Bed Bath & Beyond opens 1st new store in Nashville under new name

WATCH: Overstock.com rebrands to Bed, Bath & Beyond

Bed Bath & Beyond is returning after bankruptcy, this time under a new name.

Now called Bed Bath & Beyond Home, the brand is celebrating the grand opening of its first store in Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday.

The latest move comes after Bed Bath & Beyond filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April 2023.

After the filing, the brand closed all 360 of its physical stores and then relaunched in June 2023 after furniture retailer Overstock bought the brand's intellectual property. At the time, only Bed Bath & Beyond's website was revived.

The Brand House Collective, the parent company of Overstock and Bed Bath & Beyond Home, told ABC News on Friday that Bed Bath & Beyond Home's new Nashville store will be a test site and the operator hopes to expand to four more stores in the fall if the test is successful.

"This isn't just a store, it's a fresh start for a brand that means something special to so many families," Amy Sullivan, the CEO of The Brand House Collective, said in a statement. "With Bed Bath & Beyond Home we're delivering on our mission to offer great brands, for any budget, in every room. It's a powerful addition to our portfolio and a meaningful step forward in our transformation."

To mark its first store opening, Bed Bath & Beyond Home will honor old Bed Bath & Beyond coupons customers may have on hand and will give away new coupons as well.

Customers can also continue to shop on the Bed Bath & Beyond website.
