Perman told "Good Morning America" the idea for her food art came around the start of the pandemic and being on social media.

"We all had to stay at home so much ... I took a little picture of myself and then on a plate, and I had a mango in my kitchen. So I sliced up the mango and I made myself a mango skirt," she said.

Wanting to try her hand at a different subject, she focused on doing celebrity portraits.

"One of my favorite things to do before the pandemic was watching the red carpets, and just seeing all the celebrities in their extravagant gowns," she said.

"I made her a pomegranate dress using all the seeds as the skirt and then the top was like the peel," she said. "And that that post went viral and that's kind of how it all started."

The graphic designer-turned food stylist has since done upward of 100 celebrity portraits on TikTok, from Post Malone using melons to to Reese Witherspoon using, you guessed it, Reese's candy.

"The most exciting was the Celine Dion one," she said. "She actually messaged me a couple days ago and asked if she could share that on her TikTok account."

The positive reactions from fans, famous or not, is something the food stylist never expected but a very welcome surprise that keeps Perman going.

"That's what the fun thing about TikTok is ā€” you can pretty much do anything. And people will watch it and you know, they will find joy in whatever it is," she said.
