In addition to being an Oscar-winning actress, Zoe Saldaña is a wife and a mom of three sons.
The "Avatar: Fire and Ash" star opened up about balancing family life and filming in an interview on "Good Morning America" on Dec. 11.
"I've always been very tribal with my family so wherever I go, they go," Saldaña said, referring to her husband, Marco Perego-Saldaña, and their three sons, Cy, Bowie and Zen. "They're so supportive but you know, there are sacrifices."
"It's not all fun and games," Saldaña continued. "It's a career that's very demanding. You're constantly traveling ... and sometimes, you get to miss a lot of parts of your life because you just have to dedicate so much time to what you do."
Saldaña added, "Now that I'm 47, I think that my goal is to appreciate everything that I have but learn to manage my personal time better."
Earlier in the year, in June, Saldaña brought her three sons to the "Elio" world premiere in Los Angeles, where they posed together on the red carpet.
Saldaña stars in "Elio" and voices Aunt Olga in the Disney animated adventure film.
Back in March, Saldaña and her husband, Perego-Saldaña, stepped out to the 2025 Academy Awards together.
After Saldaña won her first Oscar for best supporting actress for her role as attorney Rita Mora Castro in "Emilia Pérez," she thanked Perego-Saldaña as well as their three children in her acceptance speech.
"And to my husband, with that beautiful hair," Saldaña said at the time, as the camera panned to Perego-Saldaña in the audience. "The biggest honor of my life is being your partner. You hung the moon in our beautiful, perfect sons Cy, Bowie and Zen. They fill our skies every night with stars."
Saldaña -- only the third Latina in Oscar history to win best supporting actress -- also thanked her parents and sisters in her speech, saying, "To my mom, my dad and my sisters … everything brave, outrageous and good that I've ever done in my life is because of you."
Throughout the 2025 awards season, Saldaña made her run as a best supporting actress nominee a family affair.
Just a few weeks before the Oscars, Saldaña brought her sons with her on the red carpet for the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February 2025.
At the festival, Saldaña received an honor for her work in "Emilia Pérez," for which she also won a Golden Globe.
Saldaña attended the Golden Globes in January 2025 alongside her mom, Asalia Nazario as well.
When Oscar nominations were announced, Saldaña took to Instagram to share videos and photos of her family celebrating. In one photo, Saldaña posed with her husband and kids alongside a cake that read, "We are so proud."

Saldaña and her Italian husband, Marco Perego-Saldaña, have been married since 2013.
The "Guardians of the Galaxy" star reflected on her marriage on the Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware podcast, opening up about how she and Perego-Saldaña, an artist, married about six months after they met on a flight from Los Angeles to New York. She said they tied the knot in the United Kingdom while she was shooting the first movie in the Marvel series and it was the only time she had asked for a day off while she was in the middle of a movie production.
"My husband and I were very fast and furious in everything that we do. It's like love the hard way, love the fast lane way and I was shooting a movie here [in the U.K.] and it was mainly my idea," Saldaña recalled.
Saldaña said she was immediately smitten when she met Perego-Saldaña and today, her husband complements her.
"We're kind of yin to each other's yang," said Saldaña, adding that he is "the best thing that's ever happened to me."
Saldaña and Perego-Saldaña welcomed twins Cy and Bowie in November 2014.
The twin brothers joined their mother and their younger brother on the red carpet at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in February 2025, where Saldaña was honored for "outstanding achievement in American film" with the American Riviera Award.
Zen is the youngest of Saldaña and Perego-Saldaña's children. The couple announced Zen's birth in 2017.
Saldaña also gave her youngest son, Zen, a birthday shoutout on "GMA" in December 2025.
"Today is my son's birthday," Saldaña said in an interview that aired on Dec. 11, 2025. "He turns 9 today. I love you so much. Happy birthday Zen-zilla!"
