For over two decades, "Good Morning America" has been highlighting our beloved mothers with a special Breakfast in Bed Mother's Day Celebration, and this year was no exception.

On Friday, "GMA" surprised Patricia Isom, an incredible mom and a sixth grade teacher, with the honor at Bainbridge Middle School in Bainbridge, Georgia.

Trynni Williams, Isom's best friend, nominated her for this year's celebration, calling her the "strongest person" she knows.

"Life has tried so many times to give her lemons, but she's decided every time to pull out her sugar, stir it up and make lemonade," Williams said.

Over the years, Isom has had to face multiple challenges. Isom's first husband died in 2010, making her the sole caregiver of her two sons Alan and Andrew at the time.

Isom eventually re-married in 2012 to her husband James, who later experienced a stroke six months after their wedding.

Despite the hardships, Isom's twin brother Patrick said she has remained "a loving person."

Isom's love has extended beyond her family as well. As an educator, Isom is a dedicated and passionate supporter of her students, even being recognized as teacher of the year.

"She's a mother figure to some of these kids who don't have that warm mother role model at home. And she is that for our students," said Jenna, a fellow teacher at Bainbridge Middle School.
