For over two decades, Jimmy Kimmel has entertained viewers as the host of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on ABC.

But the longtime funnyman is also a family man and a dad of four.

On the May 20 episode of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," Kimmel announced that he is now also a grandfather after his eldest daughter, Katie Kimmel, gave birth to a daughter.

Katie Kimmel is one of two children the late-night show host shares with his ex-wife, Gina Maddy.

Born in August 1991, Katie Kimmel is Jimmy Kimmel's eldest daughter, whom he shares with his first wife. Today, Katie Kimmel is an artist who frequently shares images of her work on Instagram.

Katie Kimmel gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Patti Joan, on May 19, according to her dad.

"You know, we were supposed to have a show last night, but we didn't, because my daughter had a baby last night," Kimmel said on his May 20, 2025, show, referring to Katie.

He added, "Katie and her husband Will had a baby girl right at the time we shoot our show last night, so I decided to be there instead of here."

In 2021, Kimmel celebrated his daughter's 30th birthday on Instagram with a post. "Happy 30th birthday to this talented and delightful baby," read the post. "So proud of what a great person you've become. Thanks for making me a Dad, Little Head."

Kevin Kimmel

Kevin Kimmel, born in 1993, is the second eldest of Kimmel's children and the second child he shares with Maddy.

Through the years, Kevin Kimmel has posted on Instagram about the bond he has with his dad, celebrating milestones like his birthday and Father's Day.

Jane Kimmel

Born in July 2014, Jane Kimmel is the eldest of the children shared by McNearney and Kimmel. Jane has appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" multiple times. In one segment, when Kimmel and McNearney pick up a hitchhiking Olivia Rodrigo while taking the family to school, Jane shows off her personality, clasping her hands over her mouth in disbelief when Rodrigo enters the car, only to sing-along with the pop star on her way to school.

In 2017, Jane appeared in a video shortly after Halloween in which Kimmel joked with Jane that he had eaten all of her Halloween candy. Her nonchalant reaction and control of her emotions went viral, gathering 26 million views on YouTube.

Billy Kimmel

Kimmel shared in 2017 that his son Billy had been diagnosed with a rare and potentially dangerous cardiac defect called Tetralogy of Fallot in his first days. The experience moved Kimmel to speak openly about the need to insure those with pre-existing health conditions.

In 2022, Kimmel celebrated Billy's 5th birthday and opened up briefly about his son's health again on Instagram, thanking his son's doctors and the medical team who had "[saved] Billy's life" years earlier. He also gave a shoutout to all those who had supported the family through the years with "donations, prayers and positive thoughts."

"Happy 5th birthday to our little nut," he added at the time.

In a May 27 Instagram post, Kimmel revealed Billy had undergone a third open-heart surgery, about six years after he had his first and second open heart surgeries, to address his heart defect.

"We went into this experience with a lot of optimism and nearly as much fear and came out with a new valve inside a happy, healthy kid," Kimmel wrote in part at the time.

Kimmel also thanked McNearney "for being stronger than is reasonable for any Mom to be" and called Billy the "the toughest (and funniest) 7 year-old we know."

On his eighth birthday in April 2025, Kimmel described Billy in an Instagram post as "healthy and strong."

"Today is Billy’s 8th birthday. He is very healthy and strong thanks to the doctors, nurses, therapists, and staff at @ChildrensLA & @CedarsSinai and to those of you who have sent prayers, well wishes and donations through the years," Kimmel wrote alongside a photo of Billy eating an ice cream sundae.

Billy has made several appearances with his famous dad through the years. In October 2023, he was featured in an Olivia Rodrigo segment on Kimmel's show, singing with Rodrigo in the back seat of the family car on their way to school.

In October 2024, Kimmel shared an Instagram photo of Billy in the stands of what appeared to be Dodger Stadium, wearing a Mookie Betts T-shirt and holding a plastic bag with a blue liquid inside.

"Congratulations to the Dodgers! Now will the Yankees concede?" Kimmel wrote in the caption of the post celebrating the Los Angeles Dodgers' 2024 World Series win.

Referring to Billy, he added, "He invented a new sports drink: Cotton Candy and Water in a plastic bag."
