Taylor Swift's mom encouraged her to date Travis Kelce, new docuseries reveals

WATCH: New ‘End of an Era’ episodes drop

Taylor Swift's mom may be the true mastermind when it comes to her daughter's relationship with fiance Travis Kelce

The third and fourth episodes of the singer's new docuseries, "The End of an Era," arrived Thursday on Disney+ and feature more details on Swift's romance with Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.

One of the scenes included in the new episodes features Swift speaking with her mom Andrea, recounting how the latter encouraged her daughter to date the NFL star.

"I'd been very non-athlete," Taylor Swift recalls in the episode. "Because I'm not one, and I've always just been like, 'Well, what would we talk about?'"

She continues, "So, you call me up with this tone of, like, 'Hey, so I know you're going to not react well to this, but there's a guy--'"

"--He's really cute," Andrea Swift adds.

Taylor Swift continues, "You said something to the effect of like, 'You got to start doing something different.'"

Andrea Swift then shares how during her daughter's Eras Tour, she was reading through news headlines and learned about Kelce's attempt to give Swift a friendship bracelet at one of her shows.

She says she then spoke with her cousin, whom she describes as a Kansas City Chiefs expert, to get the inside scoop about who Kelce was and immediately tried to figure out how to get her daughter and Kelce to meet.

"It was so earnest," Andrea Swift says in the episode. "I thought it was the sweetest thing in the world that he came to your show, he brought you something from your world. To me, that really said a lot. So, I thought that was really sweet, and I liked it."

Elsewhere in the episode, Taylor Swift speaks about her relationship with Kelce, to whom she is now engaged. She also opens up about moments on tour with Kelce, including the time he joined her onstage during her London show, which she says started off as a joke.

"I can't remember how it came up, I think we were just joking around about him doing it," she says. "And it became very clear that he, like, wasn't joking, and I was like, 'Wait -- oh, you would do that?'"

The pop superstar also speaks in the episode about how similar her career is to Kelce's, saying they "both have jobs where we go out in NFL stadiums, and we entertain people for three and a half hours."

"His with considerably more violence than mine, but he is not in heels," she says. "But it's our passion. We've been chasing this since we were little kids. So, I don't think I ever thought I'd meet a guy who had that same trajectory."

She adds, "Travis is just very comfortable with, conceptually speaking, a big life. Because he has one, and it's not one that he has reluctantly. He's very comfortable with it."

Kelce and Taylor Swift announced their engagement in August, sharing the news in a joint Instagram post at the time.

The duo captioned the post, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."

The final two episodes of Taylor Swift's docuseries will arrive on Disney+ on Tuesday, Dec. 23.
