Production on "Tomb Raider" has been put on pause after Sophie Turner was injured.
Amazon MGM Studios told ABC News in a statement, "As a precaution, production has briefly paused to allow her time to recover. We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible."
ABC News has reached out to a representative for Turner for comment.
Turner was announced last year as the newest actress to play Lara Croft in the upcoming series.
"I am thrilled beyond measure to be playing Lara Croft," Turner said in a statement from September 2025. "She's such an iconic character, who means so much to so many -- and I am giving everything I've got."
The highly anticipated series is executive-produced and written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Previous stars who have played Croft include Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.
In her statement, Turner commented on following in Jolie's and Vikander's footsteps, saying she has "massive shoes to fill," but with Waller-Bridge at the helm, "we (and Lara) are all in very safe hands. I can’t wait for you all to see what we have cooking.”
Waller-Bridge, who is known for "Fleabag," added in a separate statement, "It’s not very often you get to make a show of this scale with a character you grew up loving. Everyone on board is wildly passionate about Lara and are all as outrageous, brave, and hilarious as she is. Get your artifacts out... Croft is coming...”
