Sean Hayes had some unexpected star power in the audience at his new off-Broadway show, "The Unknown."
On Friday, Hayes shared photos on Instagram revealing that several famous friends surprised him at the theater, including Jennifer Aniston, Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
“This fun bunch caught me off-guard with their surprise visit to the play tonight. 🥹 Jen, Jim & crew…you all warmed my heart. Thank you for coming. ❤️ #TheUnknownPlay 📸 @jimcurtis1,” Hayes wrote alongside a group photo.
In a separate post, Hayes shared an image with his longtime friends and “SmartLess” podcast co-hosts, Bateman and Arnett, writing, “My dear friends. Thank you so much for coming to the play tonight. 💙 📸 @jimcurtis1.”
The one-man play began performances on Jan. 31 at Studio Seaview in Manhattan. In the production, Hayes portrays Elliott, an author who withdraws to a secluded cabin in hopes of reigniting his stalled creativity, according to the website.
Hayes recently appeared on "Good Morning America," where he called the production a "tantalizing, seductive chase of cat and mouse."
"The Unknown" continues its limited engagement at Studio Seaview through April 12.
