Robert Pattinson, Zendaya 'engaged' in newspaper ad for new movie 'The Drama'

WATCH: The Best of Zendaya

Robert Pattinson and Zendaya are "engaged" -- sort of.

The two actors recently appeared in a fake newspaper engagement announcement that serves as an ad for their upcoming film, "The Drama."

The advertisement, which appeared in the Boston Globe on Tuesday, Dec. 9, shows Pattinson and Zendaya cuddled up and posing for the camera, as the latter shows off a sparkling engagement ring.

A caption beneath the image reads, "Emma Harwood will become the bride of Charlie Thompson on April 3 in Boston, MA."

The accompanying announcement, titled "Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson Engaged," reads in part, "Mr. and Mrs. Roger Harwood of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, announce the engagement of their daughter, Emma Harwood, to Charlie Thompson, son of Mr. And Mrs. Alan Thompson of London, England. Mr. Harwood, a decorated military veteran, is proud to share this joyous news."

The fictional couple's backgrounds, including their educations and current employers, are also included in the announcement.

The forthcoming A24 project was filmed in Boston in the fall of 2024, according to the Globe, which noted the two stars were spotted around town at that time, along with their respective real-life partners.

A24 also shared the ad on its official social media pages, writing alongside an Instagram post featuring the newspaper announcement, "Joyous news @bostonglobe."

"The Drama" follows happily engaged couple Emma Harwood (Zendaya) and Charlie Thompson (Pattinson), who are "put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails," according to its official logline.

A24 released the first teaser for the upcoming comedy on Wednesday. It finds the A-listers starring as an engaged couple preparing for their wedding.

The teaser begins with the couple getting photos taken ahead of their wedding. They appear awkward in front of the camera, and the photographer asks them their favorite things about each other in an attempt to quell nerves.

This leads in to an unsettling montage that features an alarm blaring in a dark entryway, Emma drinking from a bottle of liquor and Charlie with a bloody nose.

"The Drama" was written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli. In addition to Zendaya and Pattinson, the film stars Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates and Zoë Winters.

The film arrives in theaters April 3, 2026.
