Prince Harry pays tribute to Queen Elizabeth II 3 years after her death

WATCH: Prince Harry visits the UK

Prince Harry paid tribute to his late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II this week, three years after her death in 2022 at the age of 96.

Harry laid a wreath and flowers at Elizabeth's tomb at Windsor Castle, privately paying respects to the late queen.

London marked the third anniversary of Elizabeth's death with gun salutes, and Harry's older brother Prince William and his wife Kate, the Princess of Wales, paid tribute to the late queen with an engagement in her honor at Sunningdale.

The Duke of Sussex is visiting the United Kingdom for the first time in months.

Harry will attend the WellChild Awards in London on Monday evening, the 20th anniversary of the awards ceremony that honors children who live with serious illnesses, as well as their caregivers. The duke has been the patron of WellChild, the charity that puts on the WellChild Awards, since 2008.

Harry's visit comes amid speculation over whether he will reunite with his family, including his father King Charles III and brother William.

A representative for the Duke of Sussex and Buckingham Palace both declined to comment to ABC News on any potential reunion.

The king has not seen Harry, his second son, since February 2024, but members of the duke's team met with the king's spokesman in July.

Harry has said he hopes to mend his relationship with his father amid the king's cancer battle.
