Oscars 2022: Producer Will Packer on what to expect from Beyonce's performance at the 94th Academy Awards

Beyoncé is among the newly announced group of artists who will perform at the 2022 Oscars.

The Academy announced Tuesday that the award-winning singer will deliver a performance of her Oscar-nominated song, "Be Alive," from "King Richard" during the telecast.

The other artists on the star-studded list of performers include Reba McEntire, Sebastián Yatra and Billie Eilish and her brother, FINNEAS. The artists will perform their respective hits nominated in the best original song category.

Those songs include Eilish's "No Time To Die" from "No Time to Die," McEntire's "Somehow You Do" from "Four Good Days" and Yatra's "Dos Oruguitas" from "Encanto."

"Down To Joy" from "Belfast" is also nominated in the best original song category, but Van Morrison is unable to perform due to his tour schedule, according to the Academy.

During an appearance on "Good Morning America" Wednesday, Oscars producer Will Packer shared a little about what to expect from the upcoming performances.

On Beyoncé's upcoming performance, he said, "For her, it was important that she did a powerful performance that paid homage to that movie and what you see in that film."

"It's a story about two amazing young women who grew up in the streets of Compton and rose to the highest heights, to the apex of that particular field," he said of the film. "And I think she wants to celebrate that and in what she's going to do."

Along with the nominated songs, “We Don't Talk About Bruno,” the chart-topping hit from "Encanto" will also be performed at the show.

"It's one of those great, you know, movie songs," Packer said. "That's when movies are at their best -- movies are at their best when they make us feel something."

The 94th Academy Awards will air Sunday, March 27, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT live on ABC.
