Miley Cyrus back in costume as Hannah Montana? This is the life.
Disney teased its upcoming "Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special" on social media Tuesday, sharing a promotional video with clips from the special, which debuts March 24 on Disney+, exactly 20 years after the series originally premiered on Disney Channel.
The video marks the first time fans have seen Cyrus perform as Hannah Montana in 15 years. It begins with the pop star donning Hannah's signature blonde wig and sequins, stepping onto a re-creation of the sitcom's iconic set: the Stewart family's kitchen and living room.
"I'm already getting emotional," Cyrus says in the video as she takes in the set by herself.
We also see a snippet of "Call Her Daddy" podcast host Alex Cooper interviewing Cyrus.
"This show defined a generation," Cooper says, before the video cuts to a new clip of Cyrus and her father, country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, dancing in front of the Stewart family's iconic green couch.
We also see Cyrus and her mother Tish Cyrus-Purcell looking through a scrapbook while sitting inside a re-creation of Hannah's iconic closet, which is filled to the brim with Y2K fashion.
Cyrus then notes the importance of "Hannah Montana" fans.
"This anniversary is for them -- it's for us. This feels like home to me," she says.
There's also a short clip of Cyrus onstage as Hannah with a band, blowing a kiss to a crowd as confetti falls around her.
In a press release back in February, Cyrus stated, "'Hannah Montana' will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I'll always be thankful for that connection."
She added, "The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I'm very proud of. This 'Hannahversary' is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who've stood by me for 20 years."
The "Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special" is hosted by Cooper and produced by HopeTown Entertainment and Unwell Productions. It is executive-produced by Cyrus, Cyrus-Purcell, Cooper and Matt Kaplan and will be available to stream on Disney+ starting March 24.
