WATCH: The stars prepare for the Met Gala

Beyoncé made the 2026 Met Gala a fashionable family outing.

The Grammy winner is a co-chair for this year's gala and stepped out on the the Metropolitan Museum of Art's iconic Fifth Avenue steps Monday night for the first time in 10 years.

By her side were daughter Blue Ivy Carter and husband Jay-Z.

The "Cowboy Carter" artist wore a sparkling illusion gown by Olivier Rousteing, which was designed to look like a skeleton and was covered in crystals.

She finished the look with a glimmering headpiece and feathered cape, wearing her hair in long blonde waves.

Blue Ivy wore a white gown with a matching white puffer jacket for the occasion, while Jay-Z opted for an all-black look.

Speaking with Vogue on the red carpet, Beyoncé said being back at the Met Gala was "surreal, because my daughter's here."

"It's incredible to be able to share it with her," she added. "She looks so incredible."

Asked what she was most excited for that evening, she said she was thrilled to experience the evening "through the eyes of Blue" and "to relax."

Like many celebrities, details about Beyoncé's 2026 Met Gala look remained under wraps until the very last minute.

The last Met Gala that the singer attended was the 2016 gala. The theme that year was "Manus x Machina," and Beyoncé stepped out in a Givenchy Haute Couture dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

Beyoncé's previous Met Gala looks were equally memorable: From 2012 to 2016, Beyoncé delivered a run of eye-catching Givenchy Haute Couture looks at the Met Gala.

Highlights include a purple feathered Givenchy Haute Couture gown for 2012's "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations" theme, as well as the sheer, crystal-embellished design she wore to 2015's gala, themed "China: Through the Looking Glass."

The artist also wore Givenchy Haute Couture to the 2013 gala ("Punk: Chaos to Couture) and the 2014 gala ("Charles James: Beyond Fashion").

The singer previously turned to Armani Privé for her 2008 Met Gala debut and to Emilio Pucci in 2011.

This year's Met Gala theme is "Costume Art," and the "Fashion is Art" dress code invites creative interpretation and bold looks.

According to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, "Costume Art" aims to "celebrate fashion as an art form."

Co-chairing this year's Met Gala alongside Beyoncé are actress Nicole Kidman, tennis legend Venus Williams, and former Vogue editor-in-chief and current Condé Nast Global Chief Content Officer Anna Wintour.

The 2026 Met Gala Host Committee is chaired by Anthony Vaccarello and Zoë Kravitz. Additional members of the committee include Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Gwendoline Christie, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Elizabeth Debicki, Lena Dunham, Paloma Elsesser, LISA, Chloe Malle, Sam Smith, Teyana Taylor, Lauren Wasser, Anna Weyant, A’ja Wilson, Yseult, Adut Akech, Angela Bassett, Sinéad Burke, Rebecca Hall, Aimee Mullins, Tschabalala Self, Amy Sherald, and Chase Sui Wonders.
