Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway return in new 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' teaser

WATCH: ‘Devil Wears Prada 2’ announced with original stars returning

The first teaser for "The Devil Wears Prada 2" has arrived.

20th Century Studios released the teaser on Wednesday, featuring the film's returning stars, Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep.

Set to Madonna's hit 1990 song "Vogue," which was also included in the original film, the trailer finds Streep back as Runway Editor-in-Chief Miranda Priestly.

We see her strut down a hallway in red heels before finally making it into an elevator. Just as it seems the elevator doors are about to shut, a hand juts between them to stop them from closing. The hand belongs to Hathaway's character Andy Sachs, who steps into the elevator beside Miranda.

"Took you long enough," Miranda says to Andy.

The teaser comes almost 20 years after Streep and Hathaway made their initial turns as the iconic characters in the original 2006 film, which was adapted from the novel of the same name by Lauren Weisberger.

The first film followed Andy's journey to fit in with the rest of the fashion industry and Miranda's high standards. However, her personal relationships begin to struggle as a result of her job, and in the end, Andy goes back to who she really is and moves on.

Joining Hathaway and Streep in the sequel are Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, who reprise their roles as Emily and Nigel, respectively.

Also returning are Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman, who reprise their roles as Andy's friend Lily and Elias-Clark president Irv Ravitz.

DirectorDavid Frankel, who helmed the first film, returns to direct the sequel from a script by the original film's screenwriter, Aline Brosh McKenna.

In July, it was reported that new cast members coming along for the ride would include Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B.J. Novak and Conrad Ricamora.

Leading up to the teaser, eagle-eyed fans of the first film kept watch as the stars were spotted filming the sequel in New York City.

In August, Hathaway was photographed with Brammall on set. The actress was spotted wearing a blue sequined dress from Rabanne and strappy heeled sandals, walking hand-in-hand with Brammall in what appeared to be a romantic scene from the film.

Streep and Tucci were also spotted at Milan Fashion Week on Sept. 27 dressed in character for the Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2026 show.

"The Devil Wears Prada 2" will arrive in theaters on May 1, 2026.

That's all.
