Kelsey Grammer and wife Kayte Walsh have welcomed their fourth child, the "Frasier" star announced this week.

The new addition is 70-year-old Grammer's eighth child overall.

The actor revealed the news on the Monday episode of the "Pod Meets World" podcast with hosts Rider Strong, Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle.

"We just had our fourth one, so it just became eight kids," Grammer said, updating the podcast hosts with his exciting life news.

He also noted the child's name was Christopher.

The "Cheers" star and his wife, who married in 2011, share four children: Faith Grammer, who was born in 2012; Gabriel Grammer, who was born in 2014; and Auden James Grammer, born in 2016.

Grammer shares Mason Grammer, born 2001, and Jude Grammer, born 2004, with ex-wife Camille Meyer.

The actor welcomed his second eldest child Greer Grammer in 1992 with then-girlfriend Barrie Buckner. He shares his eldest child, Spencer Grammer, born 1983, with his first wife Doreen Alderman.

Last year, Grammer discussed the feeling of fatherhood in an interview with Variety.

"My children -- my young children, older children -- the happiest I ever am is if they're all in the same room together," Grammer said. "My work has allowed me to be able to do that."

He added, "I've been given this great experience. It's been painful and challenging and hard and tragic -- all those things. But boy, it's a great life."

ABC News has reached out to Grammer for comment.
