Hughes and Siwa's friendship began earlier this year on "Celebrity Big Brother UK," where they were both contestants. In the "Big Brother" house, Hughes stood up for Siwa after co-contestant Mickey Rourke grilled her about her sexuality.
Siwa, who announced in 2021 that she was part of the LGBTQ+ community, told The Guardian that the interaction with Rourke "made me super upset," and that it was "really hard to take."
But Siwa said that Hughes and others in the house supported her.
While on the show, Siwa opened up further about her sexuality.
"I've always told myself I'm a lesbian, and I think being here I've realized: 'Oh, I'm not a lesbian, I'm queer.' And I think that's really cool," she said at the time, according to People.
Since "Celebrity Big Brother," Siwa and Hughes have shared several posts on social media about each other, fueling romance rumors.
