Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have issued a joint statement about their divorce.
Sharing the same statement to their respective Instagram accounts on Wednesday, the former couple said, "After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage."
"There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children," they continued.
On Tuesday, the Jonas Brothers singer filed for divorce from the "Game of Thrones" actress after four years of marriage.
MORE: Joe Jonas gushes over wife Sophie Turner on InstagramAccording to People, which reportedly obtained the court filing, the singer claims "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken." The filing also states the couple also have a prenup in place, according to the magazine.
"GMA" has reached out to Jonas' and Turner's reps for comment, and has yet to hear back.

Jonas popped the question to Turner in 2017. The pair shared the news on Instagram with a photo of the engagement ring.
Turner captioned her post, "I said yes."
Jonas captioned his post, "She said yes."
The couple first said "I do" at a Las Vegas wedding chapel in May 2019.
The wedding ceremony took place after the Billboard Music Awards and was attended by Nick Jonas and his wife Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, Kevin Jonas and his wife Danielle Jonas, Dan + Shay and Diplo.
A month later, Jonas and Turner held a second wedding ceremony at the Chateau de Tourreau in France.
Jonas and Turner welcomed their first child together in July 2020. The couple, who are largely private when it comes to their personal life, announced the news in a statement.

The couple welcomed their second child, a baby girl, in July 2022, according to their reps.
The baby's name and exact birth date are still unknown.
