After days of speculation, model Gigi Hadid has confirmed that she and her boyfriend, musician Zayn Malik, are, indeed expecting a baby.
Hadid said in an interview with "The Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon that they'd hoped to announce the news "on our own terms," but added, "We're very excited and happy and grateful for everyone's well wishes and support."
This will be the first child for the couple.
"Especially during this time it's a nice silver lining to be able to be home and together and really experience [the pregnancy] day-by-day," Hadid said.
Hadid, 25, and Malik, 27, were first linked in 2015, and she appeared in his music video for "Pillow Talk" early in 2016. But the couple split about two years later even though they stayed on good terms. Malik told GQ magazine in June, “We're still really good friends, and we're still in contact."
However, last year, they seemed to have split again, though TMZ reported this past January that they'd reconciled. Now they're quarantined together, and Hadid told Fallon that to celebrate her birthday last weekend, he and her family surprised her with a special cake made by "Cake Boss" Buddy Valastro.
"In the morning my family brought out an everything bagel cake, which already blew my mind because my craving has been everything bagels," Hadid said. "But then I found out that Buddy the Cake Boss made my cake! ... I'm his biggest fan, I love him, and I don't know if it's my hormones right now or just, like, quarantine emotional-ness but I cried every five minutes for an hour every time I thought about, that Buddy made my cake. I couldn't stop crying of happiness."
