Emily Blunt stars in new Steven Spielberg sci-fi film 'Disclosure Day'

WATCH: The Best of Emily Blunt

The title and official teaser trailer for Steven Spielberg's newest film have been released.

Universal Pictures announced Tuesday that the movie will be called "Disclosure Day." The studio also shared the film's teaser trailer.

In the teaser, Emily Blunt appears as a TV weather broadcaster from Kansas City, who is unable to hold herself together while live on air, having seemingly been possessed by something.

The teaser shows the producers in the studio and TV viewers alike looking on in shock and horror as Blunt's character appears to speak in a series of clicks, interspersed with her weather broadcast.

"If you found out we weren't alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?" the film's official logline asks. "This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people. We are coming close to … Disclosure Day."

Two-time Oscar nominee Colman Domingo also appears in the teaser, sitting in a chair and telling another character, "People keep wondering, encountering the unknown. They are starved for the truth."

David Koepp, the writer behind several "Jurassic Park" films, "War of the Worlds," and both "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny," wrote the screenplay for this new movie.

In addition to Blunt and Domingo, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, and Eve Hewson also star in the thriller, which is based on a story by Spielberg.

Spielberg is the top-grossing director of all time. He previously explored stories about extraterrestrial life in the films "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial," "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and 2005's "War of the Worlds."

"Disclosure Day" arrives in theaters June 12, 2026.
