"The Hunting Wives" is returning for a second season.
Netflix announced that its hit series starring Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman will be renewed.
The duo announced the news in an Instagram video on Netflix.
"Pack your boots and load your guns, we're going back to Maple Brook for season 2!" Akerman tells Snow in the video.
Based on the 2021 bestselling novel of the same name by May Cobb, "The Hunting Wives" follows Sophie O'Neil (Snow), who moves with her husband and son from Boston to the fictional East Texas town of Maple Brook.
There, she meets socialite Margo Banks and becomes consumed by obsession, seduction and murder, according to Netflix.
A press release from Netflix announcing season 2 stated that the second season will be a "continuation of the storyline and characters based on an original script."
A logline reads, "At the start of season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?"
Showrunner Rebecca Cutter shared her excitement for season 2 in a statement in the press release.
"I can't wait to take the audience on another sexy, twisted, bats--- crazy ride through Maple Brook," Cutter said.
"The Hunting Wives" season 1 was released July 21 and spent five weeks on the global English Top 10 TV List, according to a Netflix press release. It garnered over 20 million views during that window, the streamer said.
Also starring in the series from Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment are Dermot Mulroney, Jaime Ray Newman, Evan Jonigkeit and George Ferrier.
