Dearest gentle reader, the trailer for "Bridgerton" Season 4, Part 1 is finally here and "all the eyes of the ton" are on Benedict Bridgerton.
Fans got a glimpse of the highly anticipated season on Christmas Day featuring Luke Thompson as Benedict and Yerin Ha as Sophie Baek, his love interest, and it packs all the romance and magic we all have been longing for.
The trailer opens with Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) introducing another social season upon Mayfair with Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) kicking things off in Lady Whistledown fashion: "Dearest gentle reader."
Penelope then focuses on Benedict, who is described as the "season's most notorious gentleman," with a clip of his mother, Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), telling him to get his act together and "meet the right young lady."
Clips of Violet planning a masquerade ball are stitched together with clips of a new household in Mayfair, featuring Sophie as the family's maid. Another clip shows Sophie wanting to go to the Bridgerton ball and having a Cinderella-esque moment in a silver gown at the event when she meets Benedict.
When the clock strikes midnight, Sophie runs away from her dance with Benedict. The rest of the trailer features Benedict searching for her. The duo appear to have chance encounters at every turn in the trailer, but Sophie appears to wrestle with telling Benedict the truth about being the woman in the silver dress at the ball.
"Behind the cover of a mask, anything can happen," Lady Whistledown says in the trailer.
She adds, "With a little imagination, the impossible seems possible."
A logline for the new season says: "The fourth season turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict. Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down -- until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother's masquerade ball."
The synopsis for the season, which is based on Julia Quinn's third "Bridgerton" novel, "An Offer From a Gentleman," adds that Benedict's journey is inspired by the marriages of his siblings: Francesca (Hannah Dodd) to John Stirling (Victor Alli) and Colin (Luke Newton) to Penelope.
Also starring in season 4 are Claudia Jessie, Florence Hunt, Adjoa Andoh, Katie Leung, Michelle Mao and Isabella Wei.
"Bridgerton" Season 4, Part 1, arrives on Netflix on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, with the first four episodes. Part 2 will arrive on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026.
